It's incredibly annoying how good Krug is.
I visited Krug during the Champagne Academy and was lucky enough to spend time with Olivier Krug, enjoy dinner at his home, visit the Krug Lodge and taste with Isabelle Bui from the cellar team. It was one of those experiences that only deepened my appreciation for the house.
The Vintage 2006 is everything you'd hope a great Krug to be: rich, powerful and beautifully layered, yet underpinned by remarkable freshness and precision. Toasted brioche, roasted nuts, citrus and spice unfold effortlessly, while the finish seems to linger long after the last sip.
I'd love to tell you it's overrated, but I'd be lying.
