Not every bottle needs an occasion. Some simply make an ordinary evening that little bit better.

There's almost always a bottle of Esk Valley Pinot Noir in my fridge, ready for those evenings when I fancy a glass of red but don't want anything too heavy or complicated. Lightly chilled, it's one of my favourite weekday wines - reliable, delicious and remarkably easy to enjoy.

Bright cherries, raspberries and a touch of gentle spice are lifted by fresh acidity and silky tannins, creating a Pinot Noir that's vibrant, juicy and effortlessly drinkable. It has all the charm you'd hope for from Marlborough, with enough character to keep you reaching for another glass.

The wines I open most often aren't always the rarest or the most expensive. Sometimes they're simply the ones that never disappoint. This is one of them.
